Overview
A five-day cultural tour along the Tajik stretch of the Silk Road. From Dushanbe, drive to Penjikent to explore the excavated ruins of the ancient Sogdian city and the Rudaki museum, then cross the mountains to the old town of Istaravshan with its bazaar and 16th-century Kok-Gumbaz mosque, and finish in Khujand — Tajikistan's second city on the Syr Darya — with the Panchshanbe Bazaar, the Sheikh Muslihiddin mausoleum and the Arbob Palace.
