A seven-day 4WD adventure along the Pamir Highway (M41), one of the highest roads on earth, through the remote Eastern Pamir. From Dushanbe, drive the Vakhsh valley to Kalai-Khum and Khorog — the capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan region, with its famous Botanical Garden and the Garm Chashma hot springs. Continue onto the high plateau past the ancient Wakhan corridor to the high-altitude Karakul Lake (3,960 m), before returning to Dushanbe via the northern route.

Itinerary

Day 1

Dushanbe – Kalai-Khum

Drive from Dushanbe along the Vakhsh river valley, through the Tavildara region, to the small town of Kalai-Khum on the Pamir foothills. Overnight in a guesthouse in Kalai-Khum.
